SWAP and the SWAPKenya.nl Foundation The SWAP foundation emerged from the NGO Safe Water and AIDS Project (SWAP), which has been active in West Kenya since 2005. The NGO focuses mainly on healthcare programs and scientific research, providing assistance to vulnerable village communities and in emergency situations. SWAP employs approximately 60 employees, works closely with the Kenyan Ministry of Health, Education and Water and is financed by various funds and organizations. https://www.swapkenya.org SWAP employees regularly encounter distressing situations in the field, in which they cannot help, because this falls outside SWAP's mandate. It is frustrating and a missed opportunity not to be able to solve these often minor needs. In order to respond quickly and effectively in such (small) emergencies, there is a need for donations and solidarity. The SWAPKenya.nl foundation was established to make that link.
